How sweet! He wanted to make sure you could see it -- you know, in case you were sewing in dim light.
I believe he wanted to do something with your sewing machine and he found what!!! He's surely a modern artist!!!
...and about my handicraft I want 21 pieces to finish my project and I need two days to finish every piece. But ...you know...it's summer...a lot of housecleaning...a lot of hot...a lot of boring...:)
Is's called velonaki in Greeks.That means a small needle but obviously it's not the exact word for this because it's much bigger than a needle.You can see it in my pics.

That exact same thing happened to me about 15 years ago to my solid oak coffee table. But my little Angel took cleaning up into her own hands before I saw what had happened......Imagine the finish on my table after she scrubbed it down with powdered VIM! Oh well, she got almost all the black permanent marker off.....and all the varnish as well :) Don't you just love the little darlings?
