My Mom came for a 3 day visit this week! Much to our dismay, she had to leave earlier today. But hey! We have this picture from our habitual romp to Montpelier, former home of James Madison!
What fun! There's always something new going on.This is the front of the old home on our drive in.
James Madison had this ice house built near the home. It is to the left of the home in the picture above this one.
The Poser and Mr. Gotta Go!
Hey, SuperGirl, where to next!?!
Now this is a tree! The view from the front of the home. Wow. . .

Conversation with SuperBoy. . .
Earlier this evening, I had a conversation with SuperBoy that went something like this. . . Mind you, he just turned 4 on May 4th.
You're 4. You're so big now.
Yeah...........I know everything.
No, you don't.
Yes, I do.
What's the hypotenuse of 540?
Snakes......................and lizards and worms.
Hmph. I guess he showed me. :)
Again, Happy Mother's Day.

A Website I Invite You to Peruse. . .

I just found Fat Cyclist through a post on Pioneer Woman. The fellow writing the blog has a wife that has been diagnosed with months to live to due to cancer. I haven't read enough yet, but I believe it is breast cancer. Of the several posts I've read, it's inspiring to see how devoted this man is to his wife. With all of the violence that is going on in this world, it's really a read worth your while.

Fabric and Birthday Parties. . .
Ahhh, the fabric and hat pattern all came today. Life is so much better. Aside from family, what do you treasure/look forward to? What is your passion? Silligirl, I believe I know your answer, but I may be wrong. :)
Tomorrow, we're throwing a joint birthday party for the May babes here. I had planned on 2 small seperate ones, but SuperBoy insisted he only wanted 3 of the girls coming to SuperGirl's party. Sooooooooo, I just combined them.
I've never done a party for these two before and I'm starting to get a little anxious. We have no seating. O.k. We have 4 outdoor chairs. On the up side, we have lots of grass. I've just sent emails out to let folks know a blanket or chair may want to accompany them. Roughly, I'm expecting 15-20 kiddos, most of them siblings. I love the group of folks coming, so I know all will go just swimmingly. Did I just say "swimmingly"? Oy. What have I become?
I'll try to tune in tomorrow evening with many pictures to share from our day.

Deep Breath. . .
This helped me feel better though.
I bought 2 yards of this, primarily to make this Amy Butler hat for SuperGirl.

And I also bought one yard of this one. I just like, make that LOVE this one.

Tuesday Vent. . . May I?
I'm a little peeved with the healthcare service we all experience at the moment. No kidding, you say.
Anywho, the allergies this lovely spring season are driving me insane, worse than before. I mean, the pollen is abominable! I've been taking my prescription pills to alleviate the symptoms for a couple of weeks now, with a smidgen of relief. I called for new scrip last week so I have enough for this allergy season (which they filled).
I've awakened in the wee hours of the morning about 4 times so far this year wheezing. This morning, I woke at midnight and I'm still wheezing. It's stinkin' 3:40 p.m. I called the doctor's office this morning to ask for a new inhaler. I've since discovered mine expired 01/01. Could be why it's not so effective. I usually have an inhaler for exercise-induced asthma. They say they'll look in to it and call me if there are any questions. Naturally, the hour I'm out of the house just before lunch, they tried to reach me. Unfortunately, our answering machine refuses to work, hence no message. Well, SuperDad stops by the pharmacy to see if it's ready and it's not. I call the doctor around 2:30 p.m. and tell them my plight, ask if the scrip has been processed yet. "Oh, yeah, I tried to call you earlier," says the nurse. Turns out, since they haven't seen my in a while, I need to come in before the doc prescribes the inhaler. What? Like I've taken to snorting albuterol lately. Please! I didn't want to spend the $20 on an inhaler, now I have to spend $35 on top of that for a flippin' "Well Mom" check-up.
The nurse said she could get me in this evening or I could come in tomorrow to see our regular doc. I said no to tomorrow's appointment, and that I'd really like to breathe! I even asked if they could just refill my inhaler for my asthma. Anything. Nope. Gotta go in.
So. Here we are. Waiting to exhale. Please! I feel like my air supply is from a sauna and the only way to breathe is through a straw.
Oy.

Strange Eats. . .
It's 9 p.m., the usual bedtime for the kiddos and I'm still up with SuperBoy. Seems he's not quite sleepy and he still has an appetite. What does he want to eat? I know you're eager to know. Prepare yourself.
A ketchup sandwich. How disgusting is that?
I can't really talk as I don't care for milk at all and love orange juice. Therefore, I have o.j. and oreos, or o.j. and brownies. That's yummy to me.
What to you like that may be a strange concoction to others?

A Spring-y Quilt for a Spring-y Day. . .
I made this little diddy last summer for a friend's new baby girl. It's 48" square and currently my favorite pattern. I'm thinking about making a lap-size quilt with Heather Baily's Freshcut fabric line.
