Tanning Dilemma. . .

Photo courtesy of these folks. . .

Here's the problem. . .

I am the matron of honor in my best friend's wedding in October and we're wearing strapless navy dresses. Well, I had hoped to sit out in the yard and at least get some sun from the boobs up. It seems that's not really an option with two kiddos running around. Lesson learned.

Anywho. I need sun. I'd prefer not to use the tanning bed, and I wonder about those spray tans. I just need to be tan where my farmer's tan is. It's basically a t-shirt tan, and it won't be too fetching in a navy strapless dress. Oh, sis I mention it's just 3 of us standing beside her? Yeah. I'll be the reflecting white chested thing shooting rays toward the bride. Again, not so pretty. I've tried the cream tanning stuff before, but it doesn't look so hot when you forget to do your ears. Stop. It's not funny. What would you do? I'm thinking a tanning bed is in my future to make sure I look "naturally" tan.

Oy, the predicament! Help me out here!

Okay, did you see how tan I got this summer? And I went out in the sun a total of twice. Want to hear my secret? It'll change your life.

Oil of Olay touch of sun. It's a moisturizer with "a touch of sunless tanner" and it also has SPF 15. It really really works. Go buy some now before they pull it off the shelves. I got it on sale and just put it everywhere from boobs up, my face, my arms, everything. It is not orang-y at all, and the longer you use it the more tan you get!

I consider tanning in the tanning bed as a few minutes of a Mexican holiday.....makes you all hot like you're on the beach! In moderation, I'm convinced it's therapeutic!

Have a great wedding.

Alrighty. How about I use the Olay touch of sun while I'm in the tanning bed? lol, that ought to do it!

I'm the wrong person to ask!
The last time I tried to cheat with my tan I was a 17 year-old waitress.
You know that tanning lotion?
Well. . .
All I can say is. . .
Orange hands on a waitress didn't seem to go over to well. I was told to take a few days off, and wash my hands. . . a lot!
LOL!!

I wish that I could help, but I am SOOOOO not the person to ask.

I'm whiter than a ghost except for my wicked new sunburn only on the FRONT of my legs and arms!!!! (I was mowing the yard)

Good luck!

I'm not going to be much help here. I wear about a gallon of sunscreen every day.

Why do you have to be with dark skin? Because of the dress?
I don't like blackening and although I'm a mediterranean woman I'm white and when I tried to be darker the only thing I succeeded was to become so red as a tomato:D...LOL!

I wouldn't mind being pale so much if I didn't have a tan from the biceps down. I'd look like I'm wearing tan gloves with a navy dress, with a very pale top half. Not so appealing, in my opinion. Of course, I'm not picking up men, but. . . looking back in the photo album in years to come, it would be an "80s moment" when I look back at my tri-color outfit and cringe. lol
