Gourds. . .

Here are two apple-shaped gourds we bought last year to make into birdhouses this year. We let them set outside all year, turning them once a week or so. As you can see from the first picture, they weren't so pretty before I scrubbed them (right). After (left), they were gorgeous. We still need to finish the holes and water-proof them to hang for the birds. Think they'll like them? We have several gourd bird house's
and the birds love them. The kids have fun painting them too.
